Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art

Allows works of art by both Korean and foreign artists to come together in harmony.

In 2004, the Samsung Foundation of Culture inaugurated a thrilling cultural addition in central Seoul.
Ambitious in scale, unprecedented in concept and execution, Leeum is destined to be a dazzling monument for the ages.

Three of the world's most renowned architects have designed unique buildings - works of art in and of themselves – that make up the arts complex :
Mario Botta's resonant terra cotta structure to house the traditional Korean art collection,
Jean Nouvel's innovative rusted stainless steel museum for modern and contemporary art, and Rem Koolhaus‘ futuristic black concrete child education
and culture center.

Three singular architectural visionaries have come together to create a harmonious, progressive cultural shrine
That will serve as an exciting but accessible intersection of space, time, and art.
With a lavish collection ranging from ancient National Treasures to cutting-edge multimedia pieces, Leeum,
Samsung Museum of Art's diversified offerings are at the heart of this significant new institution.
