Home Culture and Arts Projects Support for Culture and the Arts
In order to promote cultural exchange between Korea and France and to
support the creative activities of Korean artists,
the Samsung Foundation of Culture took out a long-term lease from 1996
until 2060 on an atelier of approximately forty-five square meters in
size in the Cite International des Arts in Paris.
Many Korean artists have introduced the diverse aspects of Korean art to the various audiences of Paris, one of the central cities of arts.
The Cite International des Arts in Paris was established in 1965 by Felix Bruno, and with a focus on painting, it was created as a place
where artists working in a wide variety of genres such as music, dance, architecture, and literature, could come from every country in the world to live
and work on creative projects together.
Today it has 28 independent halls, including those of the United States, Great Britain, Japan, and Germany, more than 240 ateliers and more than 30 studios,
exhibition halls, and dance practice rooms.
