Culture and I

Aims to rediscover the true value of Korea’s traditional culture and to encourage the development of new discourses.

The written word has long been a priority at the Foundation, as evidenced
by our wide range of activities since 1971.

For many years, we supported major literary awards with the winning works
collected into anthologies, and financial assistance provided to
stage the winning scripts. In addition, the Foundation is active in publishing and has released numerous well-received volumes on art and CD-ROM's.

Samsung's free cultural quarterly, first launched in 1981, was rechristened Culture & I in 1998 and has redirected its focus to
traditional cultural legacies and influences, with a circulation of about 25,000.
In the past, we have supported Korean literature programs as well as publications of translated works to help share our abundant literary achievements
with readers around the world.
