Ho-Am Foundation

Home Samsung Foundation Ho-Am Foundation

Introduction

Ho-Am Foundation aims to give a systematic structure to the accomplishments and business philosophy of Ho-Am Lee Byung Chull so that they can be inherited to the posterity and be developed further. It also upholds his dying will by carrying out a variety of projects that can be helpful to the growth both of Korea and the world.

Founded in 1997 to pay homage to and perpetuate the spirit of the late Chairman Byung-chull Lee, founder of Samsung,
the Ho-AM Foundation continues the legacy of the late Chairman Lee's civic contributions through its many activities.

Most notably, the Ho-Am Prize was conceived by Chairman Kun-hee Lee in tribute to the late Chairman Lee
and his spirit of public service and human ingenuity.

First conferred in 1991, the annual prizes continue to recognize individuals who have contributed to academics,
the arts and social development, of who have furthered the welfare of humanity through extraordinary accomplishments.
